We celebrated the première of the cast album from musical “The Pilots”, marking the start of its sales at EMPIK with a LIVE performance.
The host, Mateusz Szymkowiak, did a countdown: “3…2…1… START!” And they took off! The first, title track, was performed by actors playing the pilots: Piotr Piksa, Paweł Kubat, Marcin Franc and Jan Traczyk. After that, the temperature in the cockpit and the rate of climb only increased! The awesome and responsive audience also had a hand in this.
Anastazja Simińska, Sylwia Banasik and Maria Juźwin, together with our dancers, gave us a great introduction to a retro dance party atmosphere by singing “Zabawa”. Then Wojciech Kępczyński, manager of the ROMA Musical Theatre and director of the musical, appeared on stage and talked about how the musical had come to be, writing the libretto and creative work. He also revealed where the very idea had come from. After this extremely interesting conversation, the musical’s star couple – Nina and Jan, or Natalia Krakowiak and Jan Traczyk in real life, took to the stage. The artists talked about working on their roles and how they felt appearing in such a popular show, performed 7 times a week. A moment later we travelled back in time to the 1939 Warsaw. Natalia and Jan stole the hearts of the audience by performing the song “Nie obiecuj nic”.
For the finale – a stunning performance of the song “Pan Hurricane”! Paweł Kubat and the band quite literally took the audience to heaven and back!
Individual meetings with fans and cast album signings brought the afternoon to a pleasant end.
Thank you for being there with us!
