The latest offering from ROMA Musical Theatre is a show made up of a selection of some of the greatest hits from the world of musicals. It won’t be just “The Best of ROMA vol. 2”, however.
This time, we are going outside our own repertoire as ALE MUSICALE! will present both the past and future of musical theatre. The best of ROMA, the best of classic musicals and – above all – the best of what is currently happening on the world musical scene. We will give fans what they like most: incredible arias, romantic duets and thrilling group scenes. All accompanied by our exceptional orchestra conducted by Jakub Lubowicz, and our in-house dance group. It promises to be an amazing show. Intensive rehearsals are currently ongoing, and even the final songlist will only be fixed at the last moment – allowing us to showcase global hits from the hottest shows around.
Loyal fans of ROMA Musical Theatre can rest easy – the Phantom and the vampires will soon be back on our stage again. We will be revisiting those songs that you have missed so much, and also presenting new ones which you’ve only dreamed of hearing on our stage. From among the classics, there will be numbers from such diverse works as “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Notre-Dame de Paris”, and we will also surprise you sometimes with a little Disney and then something by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It will be both humorous (“The Producers”) and scary (“Jekyll and Hyde”) but, most importantly, it will be… completely up-to-date. So up-to-date, in fact, that it will include, as fans of the musical genre will know well, the two hottest shows currently playing around the world: “Newsies” and “The Book of Mormon”.
We won’t reveal the whole songlist for the concert just yet – we will wait for you to do that yourselves when you discuss your impressions after the first show. Social media will not allow us to keep it all secret for too long, but please allow us to enjoy the surprises we are preparing. It’s our latest offering: musicals from yesterday, today and… tomorrow. Maybe even in the ROMA Theatre.
Anyone who loves musicals has their own favourite title, and also their own dream – the one show they really want to go and see. The makers of musicals are the same. They work on one show, while dreaming of others. ALE MUSICALE! is a show where – we hope – these dreams can come true. Musicals as they were, as they are, and as they will be. What a show it will be!
